Featured Pet: Lulu

Lulu is a lovely one and a half year old black and white cat, who has been in the Kitten Foster Program since she was rescued as a baby. After a rough start in life, Lulu is still learning to trust people and is looking for a patient and understanding home.  Lulu loves helping to care for the young foster kittens that come into her home, and likes teaching them how snoop into bags and purses to find treasures.  Lulu is fond of people watching from her window perch, and enjoys long naps in the sunshine.  Households with small children or dogs might be too much for Lulu, but other cats would be fine. Lulu would also do well on her own as a spoiled only cat.  For more information or to arrange a meeting please contact cecelia@thevbas.com

Featured Pet: Sheeba

Sheeba is a black and white spayed female Pit Bull Terrier. At about a year and a 1/2, she is still an eager, energetic puppy.  She has a very unique sound to her bark that will definitely catch your attention.  So sweet and affectionate, Sheeba adores being with people. Daily exercise is a must for this girl, so an active family with older children would be perfect for her.  Apartment living is not what Sheeba has in mind, she needs house with a yard to compliment her activity level. If you have other dogs in the family, please arrange a meet and greet at the shelter before adoption. Contact the shelter and inquire about ID#A036383 to be introduced to the beautiful Sheeba.

Featured Pet: Meaty

Meaty is anything but … meaty. He is a shy creature wrapped in a tiny package. Meaty is a four year old chocolate and white neutered male Smooth Coated Chihuahua.  Since he had to be given up by his owner, he is a little nervous and a bit insecure and may need a longer adjustment to his new home than some dogs.  Look past his initial hesitancy and shyness, because when he warms up and feels comfortable and safe, he can be very affectionate. He loves other dogs and would make a great companion for another four-legged friend as well as for his new owner. Meaty needs to be an inside dog, would be OK in an apartment and is probably better suited to a family with older children. To meet the mighty Meaty, contact the shelter and inquire about ID#A036411.

Featured Pet: Skye

Skye is a very sweet one year old bunny. He is a distinguished looking white rabbit with one black eye. A bit shy, but definitely interested when you put your hand out to introduce yourself, Skye welcomes affection and has a curious nature. Bunnies are sensitive to both heat and cold, so he needs to be an indoor pet. If supervised and in a contained area, he would appreciate being outdoors for short stretches of time when the weather warms up. Like many of us, bunnies need exercise and social interaction yet also enjoy relaxing in nice quiet area where they can be alone. Rabbits make great companions and can live up to 10 years. To meet Skye, contact the shelter and ask about ID#A036155.

Frankie

I’m an energetic little guy. I love to play with your feet, plastic bags and my foster brother. Other things I especially like to do are hide in your closet and lay in your laundry…..clean or dirty, it doesn’t make a difference to me. After a long day of fooling around I love to fall asleep in your arms. We’ll get along splendidly if you love to play, but also enjoy taking a good nap. Adopt me!
