Community Outreach

As part of our effort to achieve the goals set forth in our organization’s mission statement, the VBAS strives to be an educational resource within the community for animal lovers and pet owners. Knowledge and tools regarding a variety of animal care topics are shared with the public via VBAS publications, presentations and social networking sites.

The VBAS and Burbank Animal Shelter staff work together on each production of the Adopt-a-Pet show, which is yet another means for us to highlight shelter residents and find them forever homes.

In a continual effort to increase awareness about the VBAS, the Burbank Animal Shelter and our roles within the community, the VBAS hosts and attends a number of community events throughout the year.

Published three times per year, the VBAS City Paws Newsletter is another tool in our mission to educate the public about issues relating to animal care and concern.

Appearances on local network television stations are used to promote adoptions and provide education, such as seasonal pet safety tips.
