We are pleased to introduce Babs, a 2-year old Pit Bull Terrier who would be a terrific addition to an active home. She has a very happy personality, loves activity and is just an all-around great girl! She is developing good habits in our Happy Tails Training Program. February Volunteer Of The Month

Love is in the air as Valentine’s Day approaches! Webster’s dictionary defines “Love” as “a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person.” And how appropriate it is that Love also defines how Tiffany Brain feels about the Animals here at the Shelter!
Though only a VBAS volunteer for less than a year, Tiffany is already a fixture here at the shelter. Her work ethic and commitment to the animals is remarkable. She comes in each and every weekend to clean the shelter before it opens so our furry friends will have a tidy place to live and the public will see just how much we care for them. Tiffany is certainly not afraid to get her hands dirty.
Tiffany has taken the initiative to get the “Buddy System” in place and has plans to formalize it even more for the new and more senior volunteers. As you all know, this is a critical part of our Volunteer training program as it lets us all work with “training wheels” for a while before we go solo.
Terms such as responsible and reliable are often used for Tiffany but, along with that steadfast dedication, her personality is one that simply wins over anyone with whom she comes in contact. Her sweet disposition, positive attitude, and charming style make it a pleasure for the staff, other volunteers, and the public to interact with her. I can’t imagine a more positive face to put forth to represent our VBAS efforts so it’s no surprise that she is a key member of our Shelter Relations Team.
Tiffany is also determined to bring VBAS into the social media age as she is spearheading our Twitter program efforts, which hopefully will energize our message to the next generation of animal lovers.

What a package deal these two handsome boys are! Turned in to the shelter when their owner lost their house, they are a totally bonded pair who cannot be separated. They are absolutely people cats who love attention – especially having their backs scratched. If you like large cats, they don’t come much bigger than our lads here. Tango is a 3 year old male Brown Tabby. Piwacket is a 5 year old male Chocolate Point Siamese. Both boys are neutered, tested and vaccinated and ready now for a new home. This girl came to us very frightened and shy, but she has really come out of her shell. Carla is a loving Pitbull Terrier who wants to be your forever valentine. She’s dependent and can be a little needy at times, but that’s just because she wants to be with you. Although Carla understands a few basic commands, additional training is encouraged to cultivate her talents. She would be great as an indoor dog with a fair amount of daily exercise. Despite her loving nature, she doesn’t get along with cats. Stop by the shelter and meet our lovely Carla, she would be a terrific addition to your home! ID #A043130.
