Jupiter Smiling!

Say hi to Jupiter!  This gentle 14 year old boy arrived at the shelter a few weeks ago.  He was super friendly, but also super thin, and not a fan of eating.  We quickly found out why: he had a mouth full of broken teeth and exposed nerves.  Ouch!!!  Jupiter needed to see a specialist, stat!

They say I have that Mona Lisa smile.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we were able to send Jupiter to Montrose Pet Hospital for the multiple extractions and dental surgery he needed.  For the first time in a very long time his mouth was pain free, and what a difference it made!

Mmm, that’s nice…

Jupiter returned from the hospital a *much* happier cat and his sweet and loving personality really started to shine through.   He soaked up attention from the volunteers and happily sought out pets and neck rubs, all the while purring contentedly.   Even better, it no longer hurt to eat!  Jupiter made up for lost time by devouring every meal and asking for more, which we happily obliged!

Keep scratching.  I’m happy to do this all day.

This kindly old gentleman is now looking for his forever home.  He may be a little slower than a kitten, but with age comes wisdom!  He’s quick to lean into any hand that pets him, and he loves being around people.  If you’re looking for a quiet and mellow cat to share the couch with while watching TV, (or snuggle up next to you in bed) grandpa Jupiter (A084951) is the perfect cat for you!
