Bonded pair Fangs (white- 7 yrs) and Nana (scruffy- 6yrs) deserved a trip off campus and a pair of volunteers were happy to oblige. These 2 are very bonded to each other and checked in regularly, sniffing together, peeing on the same spots and always knowing where the other was. Nana is a bit more spritely and endlessly curious. Fangs is only mildly curious and would prefer to sit on your lap than go on an adventure. He got carried a couple of times when walking was just tooooooo boring. Nana was happy to walk and explore but made sure her brother was always safe. They both loved taking a break at the coffee shop and helped make sure no crumbs were left behind. We also got to give them wings because we think they should be considered works of art. These 2 aren’t speed demons or grand explorers, but they are incredibly sweet and fluffy and fabulous companions- to each other and their human escorts. Nana and Fangs are looking for a home where they can explore the neighborhood a little, nap on the couch a lot, have some snacks and cuddles every day and enjoy their adulthood with naps and love. They’re quite small and did great on leash- minimally reactive to other dogs in the world but they will definitely warn you when strangers come to the door. These little sassy pups deserve to find a forever home that appreciates their unique pairing for the rest of their lives. Is that you??? It should be. They’re awesome. Pudding was a young mother with 4 kittens when she came to the shelter. She did a wonderful job raising her kittens but honestly, she’s glad that’s over with! Now that her kittens have all been adopted, this one year old girl is acting like a kitten herself and making up for lost time! She’s talkative, playful, and loves pets and scritches. And if you think you’re done petting her, but she’s not ready for you to be done, she’ll give you some meows and a disdainful look until you come to your senses and start petting her again! If you’re looking for a really sweet, friendly and playful cat, you need to meet Pudding. She’s all grown up, but she’s a kitten at heart. Come visit the Burbank Animal Shelter to adopt Pudding!

Meet perpetual motion Mozzy! This gorgeous baby is the epitome of a good time. At just under a year old, he’s just about full grown in size but still has a lot of playful puppy energy. He basically never stops moving! He can and will play by himself if given a toy but prefers to have friends involved. (Better for playing fetch and rotating toys so the fun never stops). He does need some basic training to learn to leash manners but he already knows sit and shake! So he’s a fast and eager learner. He’s super game to go on adventures and did great on a group hike- but us 2 legged humans weren’t moving fast enough for him! He’s got potential to be a good running or long hike buddy for those athletic humans. He’s probably not a great fit for a first time dog owner given his high energy and smarty pants nature- but if you’re looking for a big personality, adventure seeking, always smiling best buddy- Mozzy might just be the perfect fit. George was a bit of a mess when he arrived at the shelter. His eyes were irritated and he was missing some fur on his face, so he spent some time in Medical. Despite all that, George has been a sweetheart from day one. He always welcomes attention and just loves being pet. He can be quite playful, but we think he’s making up for lost time and mostly prefers all the pets he can get. George recently discovered catnip and thinks it’s pretty amazing. It turns him into a drool machine. The only time he doesn’t really want attention is when he’s got catnip. Then he’s a very happy camper in his own little world. But other than that, this love bug is patiently waiting for the lucky adopter who will give him a forever home. Come visit the Burbank Animal Shelter to adopt George!!!

What can we say about Wally? Well, despite his face, he is 100% not a corgi. We dunno what he is but it’s not that. He’s actually a bigger boy than he looks at first. He’s very sweet, seems to be a medium energy level (but he mighta been lying) and a terrific hugger. He does this adorable tail vibration thing when he gets activated by something that is super unique. He’s a little serious in the shelter, but we can tell his inner goofball is in there somewhere, just waiting for an outlet. He’s really curious, and a big fan of getting brushed actually- we did that for a good while. He’s gonna need humans who can handle his size, help him find his confidence, and take him on adventures so his curiosity can be satisfied. He also appreciates being told how pretty he is and what great ears he has- so that will be a daily (or hourly) requirement for his forever humans. If you think you have the stamina to keep up with that task- head into the Burbank Animal Shelter and interview with Wally- see if he hires you to be his best friend. 🙂

My name is Celine Dion. A volunteer spent time with me and had this to say: “She is the greatest singer in the world! And she’s an adorable dog. This gorgeous girl loves affectionate humans and delicious treats. We played with plushy toys and cooled off in the lil’ pool, but she mostly wanted to chill out with me. Meet this knockout superstar at the Burbank Animal Shelter!” Celine also went out on a day hike, and the volunteer who took her had this to say: “Celine Dion did great on the Chandler bike path today! This is probably too much detail, but here is a recap! She was very excited in her kennel and a little impatient/mouthy (*super gentle) while I got her suited up. But once we were on the move, she was awesome. Nothing fazed her — other people, cards, bikes, riding lawn mowers. She couldn’t care less. She pulled a little, but not hard. She was just happy to be moving and grooving. And she was very responsive to corrections and good at waiting to cross the street. If left to her own devices, I think she would have liked to be friends with all the other dogs. Every time we saw a dog across the street/coming up she was very attuned to them, and seemed like she wanted to say hi. But she didn’t bark or aggressively bolt toward them or anything. She was good to move on when I prompted her. We did some very short stretches of jogging (limited only by my own lack of stamina) and she seemed to enjoy that. I’m sure she would have loved to run faster/longer. We sat outside a cafe for a few minutes and she drank some water.
