Foster Dog Updates, and Dog Fosters Still Needed!

We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who answered the call we put out asking for Adult Dog Fosters.  We still need more fosters, but we’ve been able to place a number of our dogs in foster homes and we’d like to share a couple of their stories with you!

Our longest-term resident, Bowie, went to a foster home and he’s LOVING it!!!

He’s been going on lots of walks, hikes and adventures.

Sampling all sorts of new foods in the kitchen.

And he even lets the humans share the bed!

Bowie’s fosters report:  “He is house trained, small human friendly, and the best foster dog *ever*!”  Follow his adventures on Instagram @bowie_the_bieyed_rottsky

Another long term resident, Annie, had been at the shelter for months and was very depressed.

A husband and wife offered to foster Annie, and within minutes arriving at her foster home, it was like someone flipped a switch.

Her fosters described Annie as goofy, enthusiastic, playful and they felt lucky that they found her.  We never saw that wonderful side of Annie at the shelter.  Once in her foster home she was able to relax and her true self came out.

And best of all, Annie’s fosters so fell in love with her that they *adopted* her!  We are so, so happy that she found her forever home!

Fostering saves lives and makes all the difference, and we still have dogs who need foster homes.

By fostering, you can change the life of a dog like Bowie and Annie.  We will match you with a dog that will be a good fit, and we cover the cost of food, toys, medical etc.

Thank you for helping us save lives at the shelter.
