Now Donald Can Breathe Easy

Donald is a French Bulldog.  Due to their flat faces, many Bulldogs have difficulty breathing, but Donald’s case of  Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome (BOAS) was severe.   Essentially, the poor guy was breathing through a straw and gasping for breath.  It was so bad that after a walk, his gums would turn blue.  For any chance at a normal life he needed extensive corrective surgery.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, Donald was able to have the surgery he needed.  For the first time in his life, he is able to breathe normally.  A walk is no longer something to be endured, it’s a chance to explore and smell the grass, just like a normal dog!

Donald is currently recovering in a foster home and he’s doing great.   His goofy personality has come out and he fits in very well with his foster parent’s dog and their three cats.    He’s basically become part of the family!

We’d like to say a big thank you to VCA Animal Specialty Group for performing Donald’s BOAS surgery, and we’d also like to say a *huge* thank you to our donors who made Donald’s surgery possible.   Your gifts changed Donald’s life.  Thank you for giving him a second chance.  🙂
