Bertha is a lovely lady who has been at the shelter since May 2024!! She went into foster for a while and THRIVED, but they couldn’t keep her forever. She’s doing great at the shelter- but our dream is for her to find her forever home before she hits the 2 yr mark. Things to know about Bertha? She’s a grown lady and knows herself. She loves to play fetch- will keep going for a long time, but promises to bring the toy back consistently. She does best with a predictable routine- when she knows what’s expected she relaxes and is better able to just enjoy the moment. She’s a strong girl, but has a little arthritis so keeping her activity level consistent (for mobility and flexibility) will be key to her long term health. She’s a smidge older, but is proud of her frosting- she’s got many good years left in her life and would love a warm cozy home and family to spend them with. She’s gorgeous and silly and sweet but takes a little time to learn to trust- understandable given her long time stay at the shelter. Shes a volunteer favorite and we are all rooting for her.
