Sometimes we get kittens at the shelter who are scared, hissy, angry, or just not too fond of humans. When kittens that need a little extra socialization come in, we send them to a special foster program called Kitten Charm School to help teach these kittens that people are cool. In Charm School, kittens learn how to be functional house cats and how to overcome their fear and anxiety. Most kittens breeze through Charm School and graduate with flying colors, but some of them are still a little quirky on the other side. Three of our graduates, Sister, Newton, and Espresso, are some of those quirky kitties.
All three of them adore being around other cats and love to play and snuggle with their feline friends. They each like humans in their own unique way.

Sister
Sister is very affectionate (at meal times) and is a true explorer. She is your best chattiest friend (when a can opener is involved)! She loves to hang out in the same room as her person (even without a can opener) and to find every nook and cranny in the house.
Sister comes with her own personal cubby so that she will always have somewhere safe to retreat. Even just a toe inside the cubby is good enough!

She is a goofy girl and loves to play, but she’s just as fond of a good long nap. She loves other cats and she loooooves to watch hummingbirds on the feeder outside the window.

Newton
Newton is an absolute lovebug who often prefers petting over food. He has excellent feline etiquette and knows when to play rough with cat friends and when to be gentle.

When things are quiet, he will come visit with you on the couch and insist that you pet him (just don’t pick him up!)

He is a very agreeable boy and seems to get along well with every cat he meets. He loves to climb as high as he can on the special cat shelves in his foster home and then run across them like a giant cat highway. He enjoys a long cuddle with his friends and also a good wrestle if anyone is up for it!

Espresso
Espresso loves being pet so much that it overwhelms his whole body and he needs to take some time outs. Espresso loves to play! Toys, kittens, trash—you name it, he wants to play with it! Espresso would love a high energy friend to play with all day.
Sometimes, Espresso can be a mystery, as he will insist that you pet him and then bat your hand away, but a good play session and some toy time sets him straight!

If you understand cat body language then you will probably understand Espresso. He is the quirkiest of the trio, but also the most charming!
Because of their quirks, Sister, Newton, or Espresso don’t enjoy the noise and energy of homes with dogs or small children. Any of them would make a wonderful addition to your cat-savvy home. If you are looking for a friend for your cat, any of these kittens would be an excellent choice! If you are looking for a feline roommate they’d be happy to help you out there too. Each of these kittens will take a little time to adjust to their new homes (new is scary!) but once they do, they will make a wonderful companion. You can reach out to their foster mom, Dana, at danasfosterkittens@gmail.com with a bit about your home and what you are looking for in a cat to see if any of them might be a good fit for you!
