Charlie Finds a Home!

Charlie wasn’t feeling too well when he was brought in as a stray.  He had a large wound on his neck and a blocked bladder.  He needed a lot of medical attention and would have to be on a special diet for the rest of his life.  It took a while to get him all fixed up, but from day one this sweet 6 year old boy with a huge personality charmed everyone and became a staff and volunteer favorite.

Chin scratches, please!

We quickly discovered this super chill boy *loves* attention and especially being scratched under his chin.  He’d lean in, start purring, drooling and then fall asleep in your lap.  (Lather, rinse, repeat.) As his health improved he became super chatty and loved to bend an ear with everyone he met.  (We’re pretty sure he was saying “pet me!”)  We also discovered he was super curious loved to explore.

Found a comfy chair to sit in and have a chat!

Once he was cleared for adoption the real fun began.  He was a total ham on Photo Thursdays and the photo team had a blast dressing him up.  The Legend of Charlie grew…and so did his list of nicknames: Charles…Sir Charles…and (my favorite) Suave Chuck.

They call me…Suave Chuck.

He took up residence in the condo in our main lobby where he’d happily chat with folks coming to visit, or just as happily sleep in his “normal” Charlie pose.

The Cat.  The Legend.

In addition to being the King of the Lobby, Charles was also our office cat.  He’d visit the office once or twice a day to stretch his legs, have a chat with staff, chase a toy mouse, and of course help out by taking a nap on someone’s lap.

Another day at the office…

Just over a week ago a wonderful couple came in looking for a cat and it was love at first sight.  Charlie found his forever home!

The big day!!!

Within days his new parents reported “He is doing so well, already so settled like he has been here forever!”

Mmm, so much to see!  But happy to be on the inside looking out!

He loves to follow his new mom and dad around the house, talking to them the whole time to see what they’re up to.  He spends his days playing with toys, looking out the window, and of course finding the comfiest places to sleep!

This looks familiar…

We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who made Charlie’s happy story possible.  Thank you to the staff, medical, volunteers, our donors, and especially his new parents for giving Charlie a second chance.  We’re going to miss you Charles, but we couldn’t be happier for you!

Thank you everyone!
