Ranger is a two year old Labrador Terrier mix. He is very shy with new people, but with a little patience he warms right up. He is playful and affectionate once he trusts you and he is very toy motivated. Ranger is independent like a cat, but we attribute this to how he was raised. He needs to start being trained to be a loved family member.
Ranger is looking for a home that quiet and with an owner who is patient and familiar with or willing to work with dogs that have abuse issues. He will need daily walks/hikes/runs and confidence boosting. He sometimes doesn’t know how to act and gets nervous that he has done something wrong. He is sometimes fearful and will not come to you when he is feeling uneasy. With some love and encouragement and a family that makes him feel safe, he will no doubt turn in to the wonderful pet he is meant to be.
Ranger should not go to a home with small animals, and older kids only please, 10 and up. We would be happy to introduce him to a larger female dog to see how they do.
