Bones, a super fluffy six month old cat, was having a really bad day when he arrived at the shelter at the end of September. The bone in his back leg was snapped in two.
The little guy had to be in a lot of pain, but it did not stop him from being the sweetest and friendliest little fellow. He was so happy and excited every time a human came to see him. We think he knew we were going to help him.
Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we were able to send Bones to a specialist who surgically repaired the bone and saved his leg.
Bones went to a foster home to recover. He had to be confined for the first few weeks , but he was the model patient and still the sweetest cat. He got lots of lap time with his foster mom, and they watched TV together on the couch every night.
As his leg got stronger, he got to explore a bit more, and made friends with the resident cats.
He still has a few weeks to go in his recovery, but he’s doing great and we are all so happy for him!
The Volunteers of the Burbank Animal Shelter would like to thank VCA Animal Specialty Group for saving Bones’ leg. We also want to say a *tremendous* thank you to our donors who made Bones’ surgery possible. A public shelter being able to provide life-changing surgeries like this is *not* common. In addition to Bones, several other animals received extraordinary surgeries in 2023, and they were only possible because of donors like you. Your donations are saving lives and making so many happy stories possible. Thank you for making Burbank a special place for the animals. We couldn’t do it without you.
